The Sarkoo brothers are sponsored by Doll.

Latchman (11) and Dharminder (8) both attend APN school in Malkainia. Their home circumstance is far from ideal as they lost their father in 2016 and depend solely on their mother Sanjoo for support.

The boys have three older teenage brothers who sometimes find casual work and provide some help to the family.

In June 2018 their school fees were paid up for the 2018-2019 academic year. Due to their circumstances WFLM sponsorship also provided them with a new school uniform – something WFLM do for eight other children in their school who need it the most.

During a follow-up home visit it was clear that their scruffy casual clothes were old hand-me-downs from their older brothers.

On seeing this Brigesh my nephew, was dispatched with 1,000 Rupees (about £12.00) to take the boys to the local town (Harriya) to get new shirts.

The two boys were collected on one motorcycle (it is quite normal for three or four people to travel on one small motorcycle there) and taken to a clothing shop where they could choose their own shirt designs, a first for them and a real experience.

Having made their selection and paid for it, there was still enough change for Brigesh to take them

to a café for a samosa and cold drink lunch.

It was pleasing to see their proud faces in their new attire proving that a little goes a long way and makes a big difference!
