Frequently Asked Questions - About Malkainia

About Malkainia

The purpose of the charity is to provide an education for needy children, initiating a change for the better, hopefully for generations to come.

There are needy children in many parts of the world, sadly we cannot help all of them, we had to start somewhere, and Malkainia is one of the villages Lall Singh stopped at when searching for family roots.

Lall Singh and his family have been helping to educate children from their recently found family in the village, and seeing so many children in a destitute position, not getting a chance of even a primary education, guilt has driven us to set up a charity to do something about it.

The free government schools are of such poor standard as well as being a long way for little children to walk to, deter many families to send their children there. The cost per month of fee paying primary schools in and around the village costs from £4-£7 per month, an average of £5 per month, or £60 per year. It is envisaged that a standard amount of £5 per month will be gifted to each child to pay towards the fees of whichever school their parents chose to send their children to.

Any child in the village who is at risk of going through life without the opportunity of an education will be considered, in reality they will be in the age range of 3-13 years old

Before the website is up and running we will ask for a pledge. It is hoped that people will make gifts and donations via the website when it is up and running, with payments made through companies like Paypal paying it direct to the Charity bank account.

Cash collected any other way will be deposited in the bank account and a receipt given to the donor

It is expected that the website with automated donation collection will not be ready until the end of this (2015) year, and until then any pledge will be accepted on trust and the equivalent amount be given in scholarships before the next academic year starts in September 2015. Lall Singh is planning to go to Malkainia in August to set up and start this process.

Money donated will be used only to give scholarship to needy children to pay for their primary school fees, based on the principle that no trustee or member or their relations will benefit in any way from the charity funds.

The trustee who is the treasurer of the charity will log every donation and pledge, and record every expenditure on an ongoing basis, this information will also be used to prepare the annual accounts as required by UK law.

One of the very important wishes for donors is that all or as much as possible of their hard earned gift is used for the children education, and not get diverted to “administration”. It is the prime objective of this Charity that money donated WILL reach the children for their education.

This website will be updated regularly with developments, and when the website under construction is ready, we will publish progress of the children development. For those donors who chose to sponsor a particular child, specific update emails will be sent on a regular basis
